My ultimate product for skin in dry climates! So softening and healing, a nutritious drink of water for parched, dehydrated skin. Water loss due to evaporation aka dehydration or tewl (trans epidermal water loss) is something that everyone in a dry climate needs to deal with. It causes dull, rough skin, milia, stubborn blackheads, fine lines, crepe texture and clogged pores. It stops your skin from naturally shedding dead cells and reduces the amount of products your skin can absorb. And it can cause over production of oil. You can solve quite a few problems by using a daily product that adds water to the skin and slows it's evaporation. That's why I recommend Skinscript Cucumber Hydration Toner to every spa guest I pamper.

What makes it unique? A rare ingredient called Deuterium Oxide aka heavy water. This type of water molecule is heavy and evaporates much slower, staying in contact with the skin longer and that makes it more hydrating than most toners that contain regular water only. Heavy water happens naturally in very deep lakes but to avoid environmental impact and high costs, producers make it in the lab. It's not necessary in normal or humid climates so it hasn't become widespread and popular, but we badly need it here in Utah. (Skinscript is founded in Phoenix so they understand dry air better than most)
What else do we love? So many helpful ingredients are packed into this lovely little spray.
Sodium PCA draws water in and holds it in the skin.
Cucumber extract is added to soothe and cool irritated skin.
Fructooligosaccharides are a naturally occurring carbohydrate derived from cane or beet sugar that promotes healthy probiotic bacteria for assisting skin immunity. It also helps to hold water.
Honey draws water in and is antibacterial.
Phospholipids and Sphingolipids strengthen the skin's natural protective oil-based barrier, which keeps harmful things out and water in.
Borage Oil brings helpful omega 6 essential fatty acid and anti inflammatory properties.
Witch hazel soothes skin irritation and inflammation.
Myrrh oil fights acne bacteria and has healing properties.
How do I use it? After cleansing (and exfoliating if needed that day), spray 2 pumps of the toner into the palm of your hand and apply in to your face & neck. Keep gently massaging until it is completely absorbed. If it absorbed quickly, you might need a little more. You can put hyaluronic serum on top of it if you have one you love. Once fully absorbed, you can follow with other serums, moisturizer, eye cream and the rest of your skin routine. I don't recommend that you use a cotton pad to swipe it on because that wastes product when the goal is to absorb as much as possible. (for other toners designed mainly to act on the surface pH or wipe away excess oils, a cotton pad may be appropriate, so continue doing that with other toners if you like) I don't recommend spraying it directly on to your face because again, some product will be lost and wasted, and also we need the spreading hand movements to encourage absorbing and to make sure that all areas receive some. Make sure to get some in the under eye area, the nook of the nostrils, and the corners of the mouth, anywhere that is prone to drying, flaking, or irritation.
How do I get it? I usually have some in stock for purchase at your facial appointment (in Millcreek, Salt Lake) but let me know as soon as you're interested so I can order more if I'm out. I don't like to order too many ahead of time because it's made in small batches and fresh is best. I can also have it shipped to your home if you order several Skinscript products together. Please support small business and order from Jen directly as that's how solo Estheticians get paid for our knowledge and time spent teaching you about products and answering your questions. Thank you!
